Welcome to The RV Travel Camping. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About This Site
The RV Travel Camping publishes hands-on reviews, comparisons and how-to guides for the everyday gear that makes RV travel smoother: campground water and power hookup protection, leveling blocks, sewer hose kits, and campsite gear for travelling with a dog. Everything is written from the point of view of a retired couple who take about six motorhome trips a year.

RV and Campsite Safety
Campground power pedestals can be miswired or deliver low or high voltage. Never touch a pedestal or plug with wet hands, keep cords out of standing water, turn the pedestal breaker off before plugging in or unplugging, and have an RV technician inspect any burning smell, warm plug or tripped breaker. A surge protector reduces some risks but does not replace safe electrical practice.
Use only hoses rated for drinking water on your fresh water connection, and keep fresh water and sewer gear stored apart. Wear disposable gloves when handling sewer hoses, wash your hands afterward, and follow each campground's dump station rules.
Leveling blocks must sit on firm ground, fully under the tire, and should be driven onto slowly with a spotter. Chock the wheels before anyone steps out, and never use blocks or a stack of blocks to support a vehicle you are working under.
A portable dog playpen is a containment aid, not a babysitter. Supervise your dog at all times, check the panels and latch each time you set up, and keep pets out of hot vehicles and away from campfires and cords. Follow the leash rules of every park you visit.
This site shares personal experience and general information only. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and your RV's manual, and consult a qualified technician for electrical, plumbing or vehicle questions.
